New DNA (Did Not Attend) Policy being introduced 1st August 2024
Due to the increasing and consistent number of patients not turning up to, nor cancelling, their appointments, from 1st August 2024 Ridgeway View Family Practice is introducing a DNA (Did not attend) policy. If you DNA 1 appointment you will get a letter reminding you how to cancel your appointment, if you DNA twice in a 12 month period you will get a second letter reminding you of your obligation to us as a practice and explaining that if you DNA again within the same 12 month period we reserve the right to remove you from Ridgeway View Family Practice’s list. If you DNA again within the same 12 month period you will be removed from the practice list.
In the past 2 months alone we have had 568 appointments DNA’d, equating to 11,356 minutes of appointment time wasted, or alternatively 189 hours. Please have a look at the policy and remember there are several ways to cancel your appointment, you can do it on the NHS app or you can:
Call 01793 812221
Email reception.ridgewayview@nhs.net
Use the website www.ridgewayviewfamilypractice.co.uk
Not only does DNA’ing your appointment waste time and money in the practice it also means that someone else in your community may not have been able to seek medical attention when they needed it.
